Genesis 1:11

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

There is nothing more peaceful or beautiful in the golfer’s eye than the renewed course at sun rise with the fresh dew glistening on the Bermuda fairways. Our God made that! Whether you prefer the coast lined holes at Pebble Beach, the juniper forests and volcanic formations of Pronghorn in Oregon, or the beauty of the Southeast by traveling up the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, our God was the featured designer! What a perfect plan he had by creating every system in place for a purpose. The germinating process of the seed perfectly nourished and fed by the mist created by the earth. The fruit tree which not only bears fruit of its own kind providing nourishment, but also bears its seed “in itself, of his kind.” For the golfer, how amazing is it that those divots can temporarily damage a perfect green, then appear without any blemish the next day? Similarly, but more painful to the eye, how about the perfected process of green aerating? A green which was beaten up and bruised for an entire year, can be made fresh again for another season of enjoyment! We need to greater appreciate the small things provided by our Creator. The system is a delicate one, but one which has been proven to withstand time. Take the time this golf season and enjoy a sun rise at your local course. It may not have the popularity of Cypress or history of Augusta, but I promise you will find a feature there unique and perfect. My prayer today is to never forget to praise our God daily for his wonderful and perfect creation!
