In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

It is easy to give thanks when our health is good, our finances are in order, or when our golf game is at its peak. However, God desires us to be thankful in the bad times as well. Not only is he the God on the mountain, but he is the same God in the valley – maybe even more so. It is in the times of trial , we can see His hand work to make us stronger and greater appreciate the times of prosperity. On Thursday at the WGC event in Mexico, Phil Mickelson shot a 79 in his opening round. It would have been easy to make a quick exit to hotel room, but instead he took the time to sign autographs for many fans. Thursday was one of the worst days in terms of performance for one person, but he made the day of hundreds of others. My prayer for today is to give thanks for all things – the good and the bad. These days will in time improve and be forgotten a year, a month or even a day from now.
