Psalms 145:3

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness if unsearchable.

Unfortunately for most golf fans and media, Tiger Woods lost his match yesterday ending his quest for yet another WGC Championship. After tonight, our brackets will only have four teams left vying for the NCAA basketball championship. Being a sports fan provides each us a dose of disappointment and reality. Our teams are usually not as good as we think they are, and society’s sports heroes have bad days resulting in defeat. We get entrenched in rooting for our favorite schools, teams and players, yet more times than not, we wake up feeling defeat. However, our Christ is worthy of all the praise. His worst day resulted in our best day! The shedding of his blood on the cross and selfless death was the perfect sacrifice. The sacrifices of the priests and the living by the law were not effective and were only temporary. But for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, our “bracket for eternal life” would be busted. Today and every day, we should celebrate and worship our Christ for his victory is a triumph worthy of all our praise. He never grows old and his feats have withstood the ages!
