John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall reach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The 2019 Masters tournament created lifetime memories for everyone – the participants, those fortunate to attend in person and those of us watching at home from afar. I thank God for the indelible memories from throughout my life. Sometimes it is a memory of a family Christmas gathering from the 1980’s, sometimes it is from 4th grade dance, and sometimes the memory is my exact location when a historic event occurred. The brain has an amazing capability of recalling an event from 40 or 50 years ago, which at the time seemed rather benign. I may not be able to remember the brand my wife told me to pick up from the grocery story, but I am able to recall vividly my grandfather letting me drive his black Ford F-150 around town at the age of 16. Jesus told his disciples he would soon be gone from the Earth in a physical presence. He promised God would send down the Holy Spirit to take his place on Earth. The Spirit will give them the ability to recall his teachings when He is no longer present in the form of a man. This same promise is given to all who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior because they will have the Holy Spirit within them. When we are confronted with a life dilemma or challenge, the Holy Spirit will bring to our attention the scriptures which we have studied or been taught. When we are given a witness opportunity to a person who is struggling spiritually or physically, he will give us the words to comfort or guide them. What a precious gift the believer possesses!! The more we study the Word and the more we pray for guidance, the greater is His presence in our lives!
