Psalms 98:1
O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
The 2019-20 PGA Tour season started yesterday as “A Military Tribute” at the Greenbriar teed off. There are many new faces who just received Tour privileges just a few days ago. These rookies and a few of more recognizable names look to get a head start on accumulating points which will be beneficial next summer. Everyone started the day tied and on equal footing as another marathon season began.
When we accept Jesus as Christ and Savior, we are able to sing this new song proclaiming His greatness through our redemptive salvation. This song of His grace and mercy never grows old. There are many different verses to this song in order give Him thankfulness for the many facets that He performs via these “marvelous wonders”.
His promises of victory are revealed anew each day. The battles we face may vary in degree, but His right hand does not shorten even for the trials we consider insignificant. The biggest miracle is our life is salvation. We were redeemed because Jesus was victorious in His fight over death, Hell and the grave.
In his Golf Digest article, Joel Beall surmised that of the 300 golfers who have graduated by way of the web.com (now Korn Ferry) route, only 42 percent keep their PGA Tour card the next season. Additionally, nearly 60 percent of the graduates are golfers who have had Tour cards before. Thankfully, eternal salvation is such a wondrous work Jesus doesn’t have to die and God doesn’t have to have His son sacrifice himself again because of any failure on my behalf. We have been bought by His blood with a perfect sacrifice. Because of this perfected redemption, we will never be relegated to a sinful condition again. We have a new song!
